Attached is an informational bulletin announcing the upcoming application period for hazard mitigation grants through FEMA’s new Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program and the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program.  BRIC replaces the Pre-Disaster Mitigation program.  Also attached is FEMA’s grant guidance for the FMA (although this document is labeled “Fiscal Year 2015” guidance, it is the current guidance for Fiscal Year 2020). FEMA has not released a grant guidance document for BRIC but program details can be found in the BRIC Notice of Funding Opportunity which is linked in the information bulletin.

The information contained in the attached announcement includes limited timelines and requires a timely response (Notices of Intent are due no later than October 2, 2020).  HMA funds can be used for the implementation of hazard mitigation projects as well as the development or update of local hazard mitigation plans.
